Please Note: The PBS HD (high definition) signal has been offered experimentally since Alaska One began using a DTV (digital) transmitter; the HD signal was never intended to be a standard service. KUAC does have the ability to distribute the HD signal from PBS, but the ever-evolving FCC DTV implementation timeline, associated requirements and cost has made it necessary for KUAC to discontinue the HD feed. KUAC is preparing to install a new TV control room that will allow us to broadcast a digital program stream by the end of 2006. Once the new control room is complete, PBS High Definition programming will be seen as part of our primary PBS/Alaska One/KUAC service.
