Based on Dr. Seuss’ landmark book, this PBS KIDS show premieres this fall to inspire preschoolers to learn to read and explore nature and science. The mischievous, lanky cat wearing a red and white striped hat – voiced by award-winning actor Martin Short - guides friends Sally and Nick on fun-filled adventures where they discover how bees make honey to why owls sleep during the day.

The Cat in the Hat makes his television series debut on PBS KIDS, joining the stellar company of their other top-rated weekday shows, including Curious George, SUPER WHY! and Dinosaur Train, starting September 6 at 7:30 a.m. with a rebroadcast at 1:30 p.m. It airs weekdays at both of those times as well as on Saturdays at 6:30 a.m.
