PHC trip winner basks in the glow of a warm welcome in St. Paul

PHC trip winnerUAF student and KUAC volunteer Hannah Harrison is still glowing from the warm welcome and weather she and her guest Tom Redington enjoyed, after traveling to see A Prairie Home Companion in St. Paul, Minn. She won the trip giveaway held after the FM Fall Fundraiser, and was mentioned on the program last week when it aired. They even got a photo with PHC host Garrison Keillor. Michael Feinstein's American Songbook’s second season launches tomorrow at 9 p.m.

American SongbookFollow Michael Feinstein onstage and back stage as he leads an expedition through the history of American popular song, with personal stories from a 30-year career, and side trips to find and swap treasures. Tune in for this new season of the series Michael Feinstein’s American Songbook which launches Saturday, Feb. 4th and airs on Saturdays at 9pm through Feb. 18th on KUAC TV’s AlaskaOne.

 
The Met’s “Anna Bolena” makes a mad debut on KUAC FM’s Opera on Sunday, Feb. 5th

Anna BolenaAnna Netrebko opens the Met’s radio broadcast season with her portrayal of the ill-fated queen driven insane by her unfaithful king, singing one of opera's greatest mad scenes. Ekaterina Gubanova is her rival, Jane Seymour, Ildar Abdrazakov sings Henry VIII, and Marco Armiliato conducts Donizetti’s delightful work, sung in Italian. Tune in for this Met premiere on KUAC 89.9FM and KUAC HD, Sunday, Feb. 5th starting at noon.
