Keith Martin, General Manager KUAC/AlaskaOne engineering and technology director Keith Martin will serve as the station's new general manager. With nearly three decades of broadcasting experience, and four years at KUAC, his work has helped position KUAC/AlaskaOne for the future.

KUAC/AlaskaOne engineering and technology director Keith Martin will serve as the station's new general manager.

"Keith's vast knowledge and experience with broadcasting will be a tremendous asset to the stations and the communities KUAC and AlaskaOne serve," said Jake Poole, vice chancellor for advancement at UAF, which runs the Fairbanks-based public broadcasting service. "He has helped position KUAC as a leader in public broadcasting. I look forward to working with him for many years to come as he continues to lead a team of experts to advance the mission of public broadcasting for Alaska."

Martin has nearly three decades of broadcasting experience. His tenure at KUAC began in August 2005. He has been responsible for KUAC's digital television conversion, which included rebuilding television master control, introducing multicasting technology and replacing KUAC's television antenna and digital transmitter. His work has helped position KUAC TV as the programming hub for statewide public television service outside of Anchorage and ARCS, the Arctic Rural Communications System. Additionally, Martin has upgraded and replaced obsolete radio equipment at KUAC FM, which serves the Interior and eight translator communities.

He hopes to introduce FM digital multicasting within the next 12 months. Martin, as part of a team at KUAC, has also helped build a culture of philanthropy, excellence in programming and production, and cutting-edge technology at the station. He was recently named the Alaska Broadcasting Association's Broadcaster of the Year for his leadership in the digital television transition.

"It's an incredible honor to have the chance to lead KUAC and AlaskaOne," said Martin. "I have made Alaska my home and believe in the power of the public broadcasting mission to transform lives."
