The Yukon Quest started at 11 Saturday morning on the Chena River, with teams leaving in two minute intervals.

Dog teams are in the race's staging area in downtown Fairbanks, preparing to start the Yukon Quest. Kyla Boivin will lead the teams out, and fellow Yukoner Sebastian Schnuelle departs last in 22nd position. Libby Casey and Dan Bross discuss the first 100 miles of trail.
